Lake County property tax bills are out!
Tax bills have been mailed out and should be received by the end of the week. Online bills are available now.
• We are returning to two installments this year.
• The first due date is June 7 and the second installment is due September 7.
Here are the banks that are accepting property tax payments from residents. This is a free service. You do not have to be a customer there.
Two major changes rolled out this year designed to make it easier for Lake County property owners to pay their tax bills.
• First, tax bill will include instructions and a code to sign up to receive tax bills by email. This is a voluntary, opt-in program. For property owners who want to continue receiving a mailed bill, it will continue to be mailed it.
• Part of signing up for eBilling includes a link to the online payment portal, so that you can seamlessly receive the bill, review it, and pay it online. In conjunction with the eBills, there is also a free online payment option. Starting this year, property owners can pay by electronic check with no fee online. A free, convenient, and accurate way to make property tax payments.
Lastly, the lobby at the County Courthouse has a new TSA style security area that takes up the majority of the area in front of the Treasurer’s office. With the pandemic still going on, and with convenient options to pay with check online, by phone, or at the banks for free, I would encourage residents to pay those ways for convenience and safety.
Any questions, always feel free to reach out to the Treasurer’s office at 847-377-2323.
